History of AKFF

AKFF has started in 2012 under the leadership of the former Consul General Hee-bom Kim, Professor Hyang-soon Lee, and executive director Sung Ku Hong. Korean governments has supported its birth with the significant Korean companies like KIA Moris and Korean Air. However, the foundation of the AKFF has been established by local Korean community leaders include Edward Oh, Baikkyu Kim, Sooyong Shim, Steve Hahn, Joongsik Cho, Kiman Nam, Sunny K Park, Jay Eun and more.

As the largest Korean film showcase, AKFF introduced numbers of Korean contemporary cinema to Southern USA include Atlanta, Athens, LaGrange, Duluth, Suwanee, and more.

Also AKFF introduced Atlanta and State of Georgia to South Korean fllm makers as the 'Southern Hollywood" to promoting Georgia as a rising up location to shooting films.
